With increasing pressure for new development along the Thames Estuary, particularly throughout the Thames Gateway, it is vital that access to the river is enhanced and maintained as a resource for both recreation and education. In recognition of this, the Thames Estuary Partnership and its Recreation & Access Action Group recently produced the Thames Path: City to Sea brochure and Technical Document.

This exciting rights of way initiative for the outer Thames Estuary provides a vision for a continuous, shared access coastal trail from the Thames Barrier to the outer reaches on both sides of the Estuary.

Rather, it is intended to highlight the range of opportunities and possibilities that exist, and to inspire and challenge a wide range of players to consider how they may contribute.
